In civilization, we are attracted to the self-representation, not the person. The object of one’s subject.
The object of one’s subject is more desirable the more representative it is of ones subject—the more elaborate its illusion, but in knowing thyself.
Pleasure is the approach of the object, but ever allusive.
The dance between desire and contentment is pleasure?
To be self-aware is to be the subject of one’s own object. To be unaware is to be the object of one’s own subject (ego).
To experience the object in relationship to one’s subject is to experience it with destiny. The pleasure of the object exceeding the subject is to experience inspiration—this is the object in the state of faith—an ideal.
