THINGS THAT BLOOM IN THE DARK
Elena Stonaker’s work centers around creating healing environments and objects using archetypal symbols. Her work creates Visual poems of the infinite dance of death and birth and the pleasure and pain between and encourages a cultivation of observation and practice connecting us to the larger powers of the natural world. Dipping from the well of universal symbols and blended traditional mythos and ritual practice we explore ways of finding softness, power and beauty in the dark places.
Stonaker works as a multi-disciplinary artist and designer, most often recognized for her work with textiles and interactive soft sculpture, but also creating paintings, set and costume design, furniture, animations and performance. She is loosely based in
Los Angeles, California.
